Pela primeira vez na carreira, o alemão Sebastian Vettel venceu o Grande Prêmio de Mônaco de Fórmula 1. A corrida
Assim como em Barcelona, Alonso fez excelente largada e tomou a terceira posição de Mark Webber. Massa chegou a ganhar uma colocação, ultrapassando o alemão Michael Schumacher, mas deixou espaço para que Nico Rosberg o deixasse para trás e permaneceu em sexto.
