Além das corriqueiras séries conversível e esportiva da Abarth, o modelo ainda teve variantes em formato de furgão e picape e foi até alongada para levar mais ocupantes e bagagem no modelo que estreou o nome Multipla para marca, que o utilizou em outros veículos. E a fabricante pensa em usá-lo novamente.
A informação vem do website francês Unica-Strada, que apontou o lançamento do novo carro da marca italiana em formato conceitual já para a próxima edição do Salão de Genebra, em março de 2012.
Além de uma versão alongada da plataforma do 500, o Multipla moderno também terá as mesmas referências visuais retrô do modelo base, com os faróis redondos e o clássico filete cromado na parte frontal do veículo. A configuração, entretanto, não leva a cabo a concepção original do monovolume dos anos 1960, que tinha motor traseiro. A moda hoje em dia nesse segmento é o propulsor na frente. Já a capacidade do carro deve aumentar para 5 ocupantes.
Com a apresentação do protótipo no primeiro trimestre do próximo ano, é possível que a Fiat prepare o modelo para produção até o final de 2012. A publicação diz que o carro será feito na mesma linha de montagem do 500 europeu, que é produzido na Polônia.
